MICROCOMPOUNDER
The AAPPI version of DSM Xplore twin-screw micro-compounder offers the capability for processing small quantity of materials from 3 ml to 15 ml, with which testing and evaluation of new laboratory-synthesized materials compounds is possible. It also reduces the cost for testing and evaluation of very expensive materials e.g. carbon nanotubes, pharmaceuticals.
This compounder is formed by a divisible fluid tight mixing compartment containing two detachable, conical mixing screws, which together with the housing are treated for chemical resistance. The main drive is continually digitally variable and allows for torque measurement with screw speed variable in the range of 0-250 RPM. The processing temperature can be adjusted in 2X3 separately controlled heating zones and the mixing time can be carried via recirculation of the melt.
With addition of the medium scale injection molder and film/fiber devices, it is a closed system for mechanical testing of small amount materials or for very expensive materials at limited budget.
