Wade DePolo, Ph.D.

Research Scientist

Dr. DePolo received his Ph.D. and M.E. in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Tech and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Rutgers University.

Dr. DePolo interests include polymer processing, polymer (nanomaterials) composites, and structure-property relationships

Some of his past and present projects include the following:

Determining the Origins of Warpage for Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastics

Optimizing the Dimensional Stability and Mechanical Properties of Particle Reinforced
      Polycarbonate/Poly[Butylene terephthalate] Composites

Improved Elastomeric Compounds for Enhanced Light Weight Aircraft Tires with
      Increased Durability

Developing a method to improve the wetability and drainage of polyurethane foams
with water for the application of plant root x-ray imaging.

Developing a process methodology for generating transparent multilayered films with
self-healing capabilities and high impact properties for the use with armored vehicles.
